What is OddNod.com all about?

We think there are a lot of interesting and unique people out there in the world and even more of them online. OddNod.com gives everyone a forum to share some of the more interesting people or groups that you've found in various social networking websites. We don't criticize, we don't judge, we don't belittle. Odd doesn't mean stupid and it doesn't give license to attack anyone's values. Submit a profile or group that you find a little unique and if others find it interesting, they'll Nod it!

How does it work?

Register so you can Nod. Register so you can Odd. Once you're registered, submit a profile or group that you find Odd and one of our official Odderators (Moderators) will evaluate and possibly edit the copy for final approval. You'll get the credit if it gets accepted. Or, just Nod your favorite Odds already submitted.

Why wasn't my 'Odd' approved by an Odderator?

OddNod.com reserves the right to approve or reject or even hold indefinitely any submission for a variety of reasons. Sometimes, we just have so much good content coming in that we have to draw the line. Other times, we may find the content to be a little too edgy for consideration. We won't accept outright nudity and we don't like it too profane -- Think Rated R but not MA. No matter what, we don't tolerate discriminatory behavior. All people deserve to be respected.

What is a 'Nod?'

Just click the Nod button on any Odd profile to give it your Nod of approval. It's kind of like saying, 'I like this.' It doesn't mean you find them Odd per se, but it does improve the overall ranking of that Odd on our Odd-o-Meter. The more Nods an Odd gets, the higher it shows up in our rankings.

Some people are 'Clucking' the Odds. Why?

Clucks are suggested Captions for the Odd. (Like that made much sense, right?) Basically, the caption that is posted with the original Odd might be a little funny or cute. But we've found that most of you have a great capacity for humor. Clucking gives you the opportunity to compete for the funniest profile caption. Cluck your own and watch other members Nod it. The best Cluck gets the highest rankings under the profile and the most recognition.

Oh, and by the way, Clucking is not a forum to dis other members and post meaningless messages. Our Odderators remove this waste. Cluck something creative and entertaining.

What in the heck is an Odderator?

Odderators are volunteers that Moderate the submissions and content on the site. They follow some basic rules for appropriate behavior and content. Sometimes, they'll reject content that you may disagree with and sometimes they change your comments to make the copy acceptable or even more entertaining. Call it a form of 'creative license.'

Please try to be polite and understanding to them as they are unpaid and they're just trying to raise the overall quality of the website. Be aware that Odderators can remove your submissions, captions, and even deactivate your account if we find the content to be counterproductive or divisive to the OddNod community.

My profile was submitted to OddNod.com and I don't want to be there!

We all know that the Internet is a public place and that aspects of your profile on any social networking site are available for all to see. Nevertheless, we don't want you to feel ridiculed. We don't think OddNod.com is about teasing, ridicule, or discriminating. You're not 'weird' just because you're on OddNod.com. In fact, most of our Odds are very creative people that have more depth than the average person. But if you want to be removed or edited, please submit your request to info@oddnod.com and an Odderator will review it promptly.
